IMF says Chad and BEAC reforms must continue
Multi-state African central bank must make changes to policy framework, IMF staff say
Chad’s government has reduced its reliance on funding from the Banque des Etats de l’Afrique Centrale, an International Monetary Fund report said.
The report also said that the BEAC is carrying out a number of reforms aimed at improving the effectiveness of its monetary policy.
The BEAC serves as a central bank for six central African states, all of which use the Central African CFA franc. The states include Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea and the Republic of
