Barbados names new permanent governor
Former IMF economist will succeed Cleviston Haynes
The Central Bank of Barbados has appointed Kevin Greenidge as its next governor. He will succeed Cleviston Haynes, whose term ended on January 31.
The appointment – announced on February 4 – comes three days after the central bank’s board named deputy governor Alwyn Jordan acting governor. When Greenidge begins his six-year term on March 1, Jordan will continue as deputy governor, a post he has held since October 2019.
“I am delighted that Dr Greenidge is taking up the post of governor,”
