People: RBA’s Debelle given second term as deputy

Australia: Guy Debelle, deputy governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia, has been re-appointed for a second five-year term by Australia’s government.

According to a statement from the nation’s Treasury, Debelle will start his second term on September 18. He was also reappointed to the RBA’s board.

Treasurer Josh Frydenberg said Debelle had provided the central bank with “strong economic leadership” during his first term.

He noted he had been particularly helpful in steering the RBA’s board’s
