Georgieva proposes China deputy governor for IMF job
Li Bo would become deputy managing director from August
International Monetary Fund chief Kristalina Georgieva announced on June 28 that she would recommend Li Bo’s appointment as one of the fund’s deputy managing directors. Li would replace Zhang Tao, who is leaving his post on August 22.
The IMF announced Zhang’s departure in June. He assumed his current office in August 2016.
The IMF’s executive board names the managing director and their deputies. There are currently four deputies, including the first deputy managing director.
