Christopher Waller narrowly passes Senate vote
St Louis Fed economist approved for Fed governor role, despite opposition from Democrats
Christopher Waller was approved for a seat on the Federal Reserve’s board of governors on November 2, in narrow vote split down partisan lines.
Waller, currently research director at the St Louis Fed, was approved in a Senate vote split 48–47, with five senators not voting. All of his votes in favour came from Republican Senators, with only one Republican – Rand Paul of Kentucky – voting against him.
