People: Israeli governor nominates Andrew Abir as deputy governor

Israel: The governor of the Bank of Israel, Amir Yaron, has recommended the government appoint Andrew Abir as deputy governor, the central bank said on January 8.
Abir’s appointment will require the consent of the Advisory Committee for the Appointment of Senior Officials in the Civil Service, and the government. If confirmed, Abir will continue to serve as member of the monetary policy committee, and sit on the supervisory council.
