People: Brazilian government nominates World Bank official for deputy governor role

Brazil: Brazil’s government has nominated World Bank executive director Fabio Kanczuk to replace Central Bank of Brazil deputy governor, Carlos Viana de Carvalho, in September.

In Kanczuk’s current role at the World Bank he represents Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Panama, Philippines, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago. Prior to this, he was secretary for economic policy at the ministry of finance in Brazil.

Carvalho has announced he will be stepping down from his role
