The Bank of England unveiled two new additions to its senior management team today (July 27), including a replacement for Charlotte Hogg, who resigned in March.

Joanna Place has been made chief operating officer, a position ranking on a par with deputy governors. She previously held the role in an acting capacity after Hogg stepped down.

Place was executive director for human resources at the BoE from 2014 until her appointment as acting COO in May. She earlier held positions as head of the
