People: US assembles bank regulation team; Mrva reappointed

US: The new US administration has started assembling the team charged with overhauling banking regulation. Keith Noreika was appointed first deputy comptroller of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) on May 5 by Treasury secretary Steve Mnuchin.

Under his new role, Noreika will also serve as “acting comptroller” upon the departure of OCC comptroller Thomas Curry. Curry’s term ended on April 9, but he could have continued to serve until a permanent successor was named.
