Sri Lankan governor will not seek reappointment until inquiry passes
Arjuna Mahendran says he will not apply for reappointment until the parliamentary committee publishes the findings of a probe into bond issuance; his first term expires on June 30
Sri Lankan governor Arjuna Mahendran has ruled out seeking reappointment while an investigation into the central bank's bond issuance continues, raising the prospect of his departure later this week.
Shortly after Mahendran joined in January 2015, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka raised 10.06 billion rupees ($68 million) through a bond auction – more than ten times the amount initially advertised.
