Malawi police arrest former central bank governor and other officials
Kabambe and three others linked to the central bank charged with money laundering
Malawian police arrested Dalitso Kabambe, former governor of the central bank on June 28, say media reports. The police confirmed that Kabambe was held at Lubadzi police station in the capital, Lilongwe.
Three others connected to the Reserve Bank of Malawi have also been arrested. These include Henry Mathanga, a former deputy governor who resigned in March after contesting a salary cute. Mathanga claimed he had suffered constructive dismissal.
