Slovakian central bank condemns police after staff are arrested
NBS alleges criminal behaviour by owners of failed firm and their “protectors” in the police
Slovakia’s central bank has accused the country’s police of acting corruptly by arresting two of its staff members for their actions regarding a failed insurance firm.
The arrest comes days before the National Bank of Slovakia’s governor is due to step down two years early, with no apparent successor in sight.
Slovakia’s National Crime Agency made a statement on the social media platform Facebook on February 26, accusing the two staff members of having “committed an especially serious crime”
