Local reports suggest Adebayo Adelabu intends to run for governor of home state
One of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) deputy governors has resigned, with local media reports speculating he intends to enter politics.
Deputy governor Adebayo Adelabu wrote to Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari to offer his resignation, according to a statement from the CBN, which will take effect on July 15.
Adelabu is one of four serving deputy governors at the CBN. Appointed in April 2014, he was successively responsible for financial stability, corporate services and operations
