EBA says number of women in senior positions at European banks is ‘very low’
Banks with major cross-border interests lack geographical diversity, EBA says
The number of women in senior management and supervisory positions in financial institutions in Europe is "very low", according to a report by the European Banking Authority (EBA), published on July 8.
Only 13.63% of European banks' senior management positions and 18.9% of supervisory functions are held by women, the EBA says in its report on the benchmarking of diversity practices.
More than two-thirds of financial institutions – 69.42% – have executive directors of only one gender, the report
