Israeli survey highlights benefits from ‘digital revolution’

“Tremendous changes” in banking system are likely to benefit households and small businesses, central bank says

A “digital revolution” sweeping through Israel’s banking sector looks likely to benefit households and small businesses, the Bank of Israel reported in a summary of its 2016 banking system survey.

The changes – which have improved online banking, mobile apps and cash machines – have led to an increased supply of financial products and services, while reducing the number of bank branches and visits to them, the report says.

The survey finds that alongside the “revolution”, the banking sector
