IBM wins contract to support Canadian RTGS overhaul
Canada is preparing to replace its unusual high-value payment system with a new generation
IBM Canada has a won a major contract as “lead technology partner” on the overhaul of Canada’s high-value payment systems.
Payments Canada revealed on May 2 that IBM would support the delivery of its next-generation real-time gross settlement system, known as “Lynx”.
European payments firm Sia has already been appointed to provide the core infrastructure for the new RTGS system, via its South African subsidiary, Perago.
IBM’s role will be to provide security expertise throughout the build
