Bank of England's Rule says reigniting securitisation market will take time
Return to 'fragile' pre-crisis market would be counterproductive
Creating a healthy market for securitisations in Europe will take time and should be done carefully, the Bank of England's (BoE) executive director for prudential policy, David Rule said today (June 17).
Speaking at the Global ABS conference in Barcelona, Rule said he prefers to focus on the long-term goal of building "sustainable" securitisation markets that are simple, transparent and comparable, rather than a short-term revival.
