Central Bank of Bahrain director plots route to ‘vast’ Islamic financial market

The potential size of Islamic financial markets is "vast", if existing obstacles can be overcome, according to an executive director of the Central Bank of Bahrain, Abdul Rahman Al Baker.

Speaking at the Annual World Islamic Funds and Financial Markets Conference in Manama, Al Baker said the prospects for growth in Islamic finance are "likely to be positive", driven by the "rapid expansion and increasing sophistication" of financial markets in the Gulf States.
