Rosengren says cyber criminality could turn people to ‘less efficient' payment options

Boston Fed president says central banks ‘essential' to discussion on cyber security

The growing variety of entry points for those looking to steal, divert, or disrupt payments could lead to a loss of confidence that may prompt people to use less efficient options, Federal Reserve Bank of Boston president Eric Rosengren said in a speech in Cape Town, South Africa, on Friday.

Speaking at a forum on financial‐sector supervision and regulation organized by the Basel Committee and the Financial Stability Institute, Rosengren described cyber security as "a serious financial stability
