Portuguese central banker warns new €10 banknote may not be accepted by all vending machines
Central bank says it took 'all took measures that were within reach' ahead of launch
The new €10 banknote entered into circulation today – the second denomination in the new Europa series – but a member of the Bank of Portugal's board of directors has warned the note could be rejected by some machines in the country.
"We cannot guarantee that all equipment is able to accept the new €10 banknote tomorrow", João Amaral Tomaz said yesterday, while presenting the new note. Even though the "Eurosystem and, in particular, the Bank of Portugal, took all measures that were within reach
