Central Bank of Barbados launches charity coin collection

The Central Bank of Barbados has launched a campaign to get the public to hand over any one cent coin collections they might have in aid of charity.

Cleviston Haynes, a deputy governor at the central bank, spoke at the launch event on July 26. "We have observed that there is a constant need to replenish the one cent denomination beyond what might be considered normal economic activity.
