Eight applicants have been shortlisted to submit designs for a new series of krona banknotes the Riksbank plans to launch.

On Tuesday, the Swedish central bank said the eight competitors had qualified to the final stage of its contest to design the next series of krona banknotes. It said the decision was based on six works and a written statement provided by each applicant.
