UK households pessimistic about fortunes in 2018
Survey published by BoE reveals UK households do not expect an improvement in their financial positions
For the first time since 2014, UK households do not envisage an improvement in their financial positions in the next year, according to a survey published by the Bank of England.
In its latest quarterly bulletin, the BoE publishes findings from NMG Consulting’s September survey, which “sheds light on the conditions of households’ balance sheets”.
“Since the financial crisis, household balance sheet positions have improved significantly,” say BoE economists Philippe Bracke, Hasdeep Sethi, Emma
