Giff 2012: Experts divided on Islamic finance as financial stability panacea

The reputation of Islamic finance has risen significantly due to its strong performance compared with conventional finance during the past five years, leading some parties to state that Islamic finance may represent an end-solution to the 'boom and bust' cycles witnessed in conventional financial markets.

This was one of the central messages conveyed by the Global University of Islamic Finance (Inceif), which used the first day of the Global Islamic Finance Forum (Giff) – hosted by Bank Negara
