Lower-paid workers face greatest impact from AI – BIS paper

Risk of core skills being replaced, and jobs being lost, is higher for people on low incomes

Lower-paid workers are more likely to lose their jobs as a result of artificial intelligence (AI), research by the Bank for International Settlements finds.

The working paper questions the conclusions of some recent literature that found higher-paid workers to be at greater risk.
