Bank of Israel governor warns Israel remains laggard when it comes to growing output per person

Israeli authorities need to take action to catch up with other countries on productivity, the governor of the Bank of Israel said on May 7.

The growth rate of GDP per worker in Israel is low, given the level of per-capita GDP, Karnit Flug said in remarks at the Aaron Institute for Economic Policy. Amid a sluggish global environment that looks set to remain for some time, raising productivity has become all the more important, she said.

Flug said there had been “insufficient” government
