Bank of Spain launches data lab for research

Economists now have access to micro-data on the country’s non-financial firms

Data

The Bank of Spain launched a data lab (BELab) on July 22 to gather micro-data on the country’s non-financial companies in support of its economic researchers.

“Micro-data constitute a valuable source of information on the behaviour of economic agents, whose exploitation by researchers can allow a better and deeper understanding of reality,” says the central bank.

Like many other data labs in the Eurosystem, BELab is part of an international network for exchanging experiences on granular data
