BoJ builds on BIS banking statistics
Researchers break down statistics further, shedding new light on patterns of cross-border banking
The Bank of Japan (BoJ) is working with the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) to improve international banking statistics, and has independently developed some enhancements of its own, according to a working paper published on March 29.
In addition to the locational and consolidated banking statistics Japan reports to the BIS, it has started breaking down the statistics into more granular counterparty sectors, adding “inter-office” transactions, and calculating aggregated figures for
