Ingves: Equal implementation of Basel III a ‘major challenge'
Swedish banks' ‘structural vulnerabilities' justify higher capital requirements
Ensuring the comparable and credible application of Basel III regulations around the world – a prerequisite for them to be effective – will be a major challenge in the coming years, Stefan Ingves, governor of the Riksbank and chairman of the Basel Committee, said in a speech today in Stockholm.
"The Basel Committee will in the future be putting increasing emphasis on following up and evaluating the observance of the regulations. But there is also more to be done to reinforce them", Ingves said
