Philippines governor expounds importance of consumer protection
The governor of the Central Bank of the Philippines, Amando Tetangco, on August 23 stressed the importance of consumer protection as a complement to financial stability in addressing the growing economy's needs.
Speaking at FinanceAsia's annual Corporate Treasury and CFO summit in Manila, Tetangco said that for financial stability to result in solid and durable economic growth, the central bank "must continue to enable different stakeholders to participate confidently in the financial system".
