Trichet warns Romania of complacency

Jean-Claude Trichet, the president of the European Central Bank (ECB), on 5 September praised the National Bank of Romania for its recent progress, but said there was no room for complacency as the country would need to actively reduce its fiscal deficit in the coming years.


Speaking at a ceremony to mark the central bank's 130th anniversary, Trichet said: "Let me take this opportunity to congratulate National Bank of Romania for the conduct of its monetary policy in such difficult circumstances
