ECB's Trichet on monetary policy

In testimony to the European Parliament given on 21 March Jean-Claude Trichet of the ECB said eurozone interest rates are now moderate but remain slightly accommodative.

"Our monetary policy, as far as we see it, continues to be on the accommodative side with the key ECB interest rates moderate, money and credit growth vigorous and liquidity ample by all plausible measures," Trichet told the European Parliament's economic and monetary affairs committee.

Trichet said his description of rates as
