ECB paper on EMU governance reforms

A European Central Bank (ECB) paper published in February discusses key proposals outlined by the Van Rompuy Task Force to enhance economic governance framework in the euro area.

The paper says the current economic governance framework in the euro area was never fully implemented and was even weaker than when the Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) was formed. It highlights deficiencies in the current framework and provides an overview and assessment of the proposed changes based on
