Ghana annual report details payments upgrades
Writing in his foreword to the 2011 annual report, the Bank of Ghana governor, Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur, highlighted several projects designed to upgrade payments in the country.
The first was enhancing interoperability of automated teller machines and point of sale between banks to enable electronic retail banking to expand. This was a joint project between the central bank and Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems, the governor noted. The payment system can now offer switching
