Fed’s beige book shows continuing modest growth

federal reserve

The Federal Reserve System's latest beige book summary, published on June 6, showed a continuing modest recovery in the US economy.

The report covers early April to late May, and found only one of the 12 districts experienced a slowdown in growth. The report said that manufacturing expanded in most districts, with hiring increasing slightly or remaining flat. Wage pressures remained minimal and inflation was moderate, as "overall cost pressures eased as the price of energy inputs declined".
