Turkey's Monetary Policy Committee met on 16 February and released details of its discussions ten days later on 26 February.

It noted that consumer prices rose by 1.85% in January, driving annual inflation up by 1.66 percentage points to 8.19%. This was primarily due to the administered price and tax adjustments, which added about 1.7 percentage points to CPI inflation in January and will add another 0.2 percentage points this month, bringing the total estimated impact to about 1.9 percentage
