Central Bank of Belize – Annual Report 2008

Belize's GDP growth accelerated slightly to 2.1% in 2008 despite a deepening global crisis and extensive damage from floods in June and October, notes the country's central bank in the latest Annual Report.

The report also notes that output from the primary sector declined as floods and disease took its toll on agriculture and the contribution from fishing fell as a result of reduced production of farmed shrimp.
