Australia's payments system review

The Reserve Bank of Australia formally initiated a consultation process for the review of its payments system on 29 May, with the release of a paper titled 'Reform of Australia's Payments System: Issues for the 2007/08 Review.'

According to the RBA the review will examine both the effects of the reforms to date and also how the current regulatory regime can best contribute to competition and efficiency in the Australian payments system.
