South African Reserve Bank - Annual Report 2004

The South African Reserve Bank published its Annual Report for the year ended 2004 on 2 August. The SARB achieved success on many fronts during the past year. By far the most important achievement was the downward movement in the rate of inflation to within the target range of between 3 and 6 per cent in September 2003, the annual report said.

Other milestones of the Bank in the financial year 2003/04 included the maintenance of a sound regulatory banking framework and national payment system
