Tracey McDermott, former acting chief executive of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), has joined Standard Chartered as group head of corporate, public and regulatory affairs, effective on March 20.

In her new role, London-based McDermott will report to group chief executive Bill Winters. She will work closely with José Viñals, group chairman, and Mark Smith, group chief risk officer.

McDermott will be responsible for the bank's global public affairs, sustainability and communications
