Chile’s Vergara to pass torch to Marcel

Mario Marcel picked to be new central bank governor when Vergara’s term ends in December

Chilean president Michelle Bachelet and treasury minister Rodrigo Valdes have appointed Mario Marcel as the new governor of the Central Bank of Chile, effective on December 11.

"I am sure Mario will maintain the tradition of technical excellence at the Central Bank of Chile," said Bachelet on October 25.
