Pelaelo to take over as Bank of Botswana governor

Deputy has risen through the ranks to replace outgoing Mohohlo

Botswanan president Ian Khama has selected internal candidate, Moses Pelaelo, to take over as the new governor of the Bank of Botswana. Khama used social media on October 17 to confirm the deputy governor's promotion.

Current governor – Linah Mohohlo – is due to retire on October 20. The bank formally announced the appointment of her successor today.

Pelaelo joined the Bank of Botswana in 1990 as senior bank examiner in the banking supervision department following a six-year career
