EBA survey: Most European banks did not see Brexit as risk

Surveyed banks anticipated increased levels of lending to businesses and consumers

European banks surveyed in April and May saw little risk to financial markets from the UK's 'Brexit' referendum and expected to increase their lending, according to the latest risk assessment from the European Banking Authority (EBA).

The EBA posed questions on the financial outlook to 38 European banks and supervisors, as well as to 20 market analysts, between April and May 2016, publishing the results on July 7.

Few banks or analysts answering the survey earlier this year seem to have believed
