Indonesia cuts interest rates following Jakarta attack

Local reports suggest central bank's board was meeting at time of bomb blasts

Bank Indonesia today (January 14) cut interest rates for the first time in 11 months, delivering its decision hours after a series of nearby bomb blasts.
The attack, which according to newswires had killed at least six people, took place at various sites in downtown Jakarta, including in the embassy district, where Bank Indonesia is located.

According to local media reports, the central bank's board of governors was meeting at the time of the attack, thought to be the deadliest in Indonesia since
