Yellen would ‘welcome’ vice-chair of supervision

Stresses the ‘outstanding job’ board member Tarullo has done leading work in the area

Janet Yellen would welcome having the vacant post of vice-chairman of supervision at the Federal Reserve filled, she said today (November 4), though she stressed board member Daniel Tarullo had done an "outstanding job of leading our work in this area".

President Barack Obama is yet to nominate anyone for the post, created under the Dodd-Frank Act. This is proving a source of friction with US legislators, some of whom have delayed the appointment of two other Fed officials in response.
