Riaz Riazuddin appointed deputy governor at the SBP

Pakistan: Riaz Riazuddin has been appointed deputy governor of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) for a period of three years.

Riazuddin was formerly chief economic adviser at the SBP, responsible for the central bank's monetary policy unit.

He has been with the central bank for around 20 years, serving in roles including executive director for human resources, and working on technical teams in negotiations with the IMF. Before joining the SBP in 1994, he was an assistant professor at the
