Sri Lankan governor takes aim at central bank procedures
Comments come as his predecessor faces public scrutiny
Arjuna Mahendran criticised the internal procedures at the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) last week, in his first speech since taking over from Ajith Nivard Cabraal as governor.
Cabraal has endured a difficult few months since resigning. He is facing scrutiny over deals between the CBSL and outside consultants and lobbyists, with the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption ordering the seizure of his passport.
