Canadians want more women on banknotes, poll shows

Central bank will take poll results into account in the next series

Nearly half the respondents in a poll taken by the Bank of Canada want more women represented on the country's banknotes.

The Bank of Canada's online consultation, published this week, asked for input on the central bank's principles for banknote design. Nearly 2,000 people weighed in from across the country during the survey period from October 8 to November 10.
