BoE deputy says he voted against an EBA opinion

The European Banking Authority (EBA) "incorrectly transmitted" the news that an opinion on allowances had received unanimous support when put to a vote, according to Andrew Bailey, deputy governor of the Bank of England (BoE) and chief executive of the Prudential Regulation Authority.

In a hearing of the House of Commons Treasury Committee today (October 22), Bailey was questioned on the issue of European bonus caps, which limit bonuses to a maximum of 200% of base salary, with shareholder
