South African Reserve Bank (Sarb) deputy governor Lesetja Kganyago will succeed Gill Marcus as governor next month in a move that is expected to bring "policy continuity" to the central bank.

"I have no doubt that eyes will be on me," Kganyago said, as he was announced as Marcus's successor by president Jacob Zuma in a press conference this morning. "I will not disappoint."
